If you are a fellow bookworm like myself, you will like this blog post. After years of reading, I found myself keeping track of the books that I was reading and forgetting them. I wanted to fix that issue by designating a book review journal. You see, it’s not that I forgot what the book was about overall, but I forgot if I truly enjoyed it or what I enjoyed about them. I also wanted a place in which I could jot down my feelings after re-reading books that I love. Here we have my book review journal setup.

I will be using one of the inserts I made for my traveler’s notebook to track down all my notes and important info.

Year’s TBR (To Be Read)

book reading goals

I’m a planner girl, I love prepping on a yearly, quarterly, monthly, weekly, and daily basis. I’m mostly the same when it comes to my books. Well, I try to plan the books I will be reading though it doesn’t always go as planned when I stop liking a book midway and have to pick up another one.

Still, I like to be prepared at the beginning of the year and there are certain books that I read every year like books by Rick Riordan since I love them all and they make me happy. Here we have how I set up my TBR (To Be Read) list in this journal and my bullet journal.

On the insert is a very simple numbered list whilst in my bullet journal yearly spread, is a bookshelf. One of them is to plan and the other one is to track.

Wish List

I could have 10 books that I own on my TBR (To Be Read) but there are a whole bunch of them that I want because I have a slight obsession with getting books and as I watch a bunch of book reviews, I keep adding them to my wish list until I decide to place my order from ThriftBooks or Amazon.

Re-Establish Routine Checklist

If you have read my How to Establish a Reading Habit blog post, you know the steps I take every time I fall off my reading routine. The reason why this is so important to me is that reading is one of those things that makes me happy and I want to make sure that I take care of myself by doing things that make me happy such as reading.

Book Review Page

Last but certainly not least, is my review spread. As you can see, it is a very simple spread. I just write down the main things of the book such as the title, the author, the number of pages the book has, the genre/s (to keep track of the main genres that I read and make sure that I read from different genres every once in a while), and if it belongs to a series/ trilogy/ duology, I write down the name of the series and which book of the series it is.

You can use this reviewing setup with the free printable I made of this review page. You will be able to access this printable and many more by subscribing to my weekly newsletter that grants you access to the Free Printables Library.
